A Little humor on Board Breaking

I came acrossed this forum entry on Budo Seek, with a multiple choice poll on board breaking….

Hand, Foot, Knee, Elbow and Head are the choices… But the posts afterwards are what caught my eye…

AllenJGAnderson wrote:”A head break is easily my favorite break that I’ve ever done. Allthough afterward I felt that I may have brained my damage . . . .”

Brained my damage? I would say so, but most likely he enjoyed every second of it…

When I first saw this one I had to take a second look, but originaly I thought that he/she had asked if it is on a concrete or wooden board. Thanks to the lack of “a” before concrete I can’t say much, but if it had an “a” I would just chuckle since boards are made out of wood and not concrete…but I guess I just have a peculiar sense of humor.

I would have to say my all-time favorite break is a 5 board ball of the foot front kick. This break takes Kikumchae; mind, body and spirit but be all sycronized to get this break to happen. It’s a crowd pleaser at tournaments too, especially when 10 pieces of broken wood fly across the room!Respectfully,

And that is a good moral to finish this post “Empty your teacup. Do not allow past experience to blind you.”Thanks for that bit Empty Teacup….

But don’t take my word for it, check it out your self. Here is the Budo Seek thread . There is also some great photos from Gordon Nore, and Aruko even has a video on his MySpace site.

For now, I shall go, but always enjoy you study no mater what it is.
