Tae kwon do classes for kids in Johnston

Classes in tae kwon do, the Korean art of self-defense, will be offered for youths ages 6 years and older beginning May 17 and running through June 21 on Thursdays at Wallace Elementary School, 6510 N.W. 62nd Ave., Johnston.
The class meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
There also is a class called “Little Ninjas,” which is for 4- and 5-year-olds, that teaches the fundamentals of tae kwon do and karate. That class will also be on Thursdays, May 17 through June 21, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wallace Elementary.
Aqua aerobics twice a week at Summit Pool
Aqua aerobics is being offered from 8:15 to 9:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from May 7 through 23 at Summit Pool, 9500 Windsor Parkway, Johnston.
The classes include 25-to-30-minute aerobic workouts and includes muscle toning for arms, stomach, hips and legs, along with flexibility and relaxation exercises. The exercises can be done either high or low impact. The class are for people 12 years and older.
